OPS is a once-a-month feature here on the blog where I pass along the videos, pdfs, and other goodies I’ve run across that are too accessible, interesting, and powerful not to share. Consider it my curated list of nutrition and lifestyle tidbits most worth your time.
Today’s resource is a little different than my usual offerings, but worth passing along: Rebel Creamery Keto Ice Cream.
Why does this ice cream rate a mention?
- It’s so good a non-nutritionist friend passed it on to me as a must-get.
- It’s keto, which means it’s great for everyone using low-carb diets to manage their weight or to keep physical or mental health conditions under control.
- All the add-ins the company uses (chocolate chips, fudge pieces, etc.) are grain and gluten-free, which makes it a rare treat for people with Celiac and other gluten-intolerances since most other companies I’ve found only produce “straight” flavors (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry) in gluten-free form.
Last, but certainly not least, they will mail it to you. If you’ve ever had the misfortune to live somewhere that affords little to no access to healthy or gluten-free foods, you know how miraculous it feels to find products online that meet your needs that you can get shipped to your house. Plus, at about $6 a pint, the cost is on par with other clean, gluten-free ice creams you’ll find in your local stores… but with the option to order butter pecan, peanut butter fudge, and other delicious flavors your local stores won’t offer in keto or gluten-free forms!
